The Funivie Monte Bianco or Téléphérique de Courmayeur is showing its support for the Chamonix Mountain Festival by offering a 20% of discount to all festival participants.

To take the advantage of this promotion all you have to do is show a special coupon, that can be picked up at the festival to the Mont Blanc cable car cash desk.

The cable car was originally built in the 1948 and holds an historical place in mountain engineering as the lift that delivered millions of people to the panoramic terraces of the Torino Hut and of Punta Helbronner, the closest points to the Mont Blanc summit.

But after almost 70 years, its patent was close to expiring by Italian law. That is why the Mont Blanc cable car company decided to replace it with something unique, not only for its cutting edge technical innovations, but also for the architectural choices, which are related to the unique Mont Blanc environment and the emotions it draws.

The new Mont Blanc cable car will be divided in two lines. The cabins will have different capacities (80 people in the first , 75 on the second ), and they will both spin 360 degrees, once per trip.

There will be three stations, the departure station at Pontal d’Entrèves, the middle station at Pavillon du Mont Frety and the top station of Punta Helbronner. The first two building will be characterized by a sinusoidal curve shape, to protect from mountain weathering and as a decorative element, while the third one will look like the Mont Blanc crystals.

Thanks to the uniqueness of the project, its expected that the New Mont Blanc cable car will became one of the most important flagships of Italian tourism, attracting people from all around the world.
