‘Douds’ Charlet

Valandre and SlingFin bivvy experience have sold out, but there are still spaces on the Courmayeur safety course and the Mountain Hardwear experiences.

Valandre and SlingFin teamed up to offer 6 Chamonix Mountain Festival participants a special experience on Saturday night, (28th June ); the chance to sleep under the stars, camping on a glacier high above Chamonix.

Freeride superstar and UIAGM guide, Jonathan Charlet, is set to lead the experience. Charlet is a 7th generation mountain guide, 2012 world snowboard free ride champion and has been on expeditions to Pakistan and Alaska’s Mount McKinley.

Participants will set off from Entrèves on the Italian side and once on the glacier, learn a range of glacial travel skills, from safe travel to identifying an appropriate camp site and building it, making a toilet, snow shield and emergency snow hole! It will also be an opportunity to test prototypes of Valandre’s new expedition sleeping bags and SlingFin’s latest specialist expedition tents.

Dinner will be provided by Valandre and SlingFin, whilst Chimpanzee will provide each participant with the Survival Pack containing Chimpanzee QuickMix Shake, compostable Chimpanzee bottles and Natural Energy Bars.
